Nobunto
Nobunto is a South African Fair Trade company that creates high quality hand-painted candles, ceramics and handcrafted greeting cards with the utmost attention to detail using mainly African inspired designs. Their mission is, in a region with high unemployment, to alleviate poverty, not only through development of industry but to be socially, ethically, and sustainably responsible.
Jedando Modern Craft
Working with more than 100 individual carvers in Machakos, Kenya, Jedando Modern Crafts markets products primarily made of wood and bone worldwide. Carving is a tradition in Kenya with the children learning the craft from their parents. Carved by hand using only rudimentary hand tools, olive wood bowls, salad serving sets, and animal-shaped napkin rings take shape from pieces of olive wood, mahogany, and mpingo, or “African Ebony.”
The Bungalow 5 collections are designed and produced by a group of architects and designers who are based in New York City but who work on projects throughout the world.
Working with in-house cabinetmakers and finishers, the Bungalow 5 team produces unique and stylish pieces often using unusual materials sourced from distant places.
Meet the Maasai Mamas
Me to We Artisans is a line of original accessories, handcrafted by artisans in Free The Children countries across the globe. Each unique piece is a connection between you and a working artisan, sustainably produced using locally sourced materials.
Me to We Artisans
Founded in 2010, by Roxanne Joyal, Me to We Artisans is a line of original accessories handcrafted by artisan mamas in Free the Children developing communities in Kenya. Beadwork is a traditional component of Maasai communal life, but a lot of these women also try to make a living by selling their wares at the market. Me to We offers these Maasai mamas an opportunity to create what they already know and do, but share their works with a global market.
